Liberty Boat Neck Blouse – Simplicity 6245

Image
I always want to have a vintage blouse that makes me feel girly , maybe because  I am not there yet haha. If you have notice that I am a big fan of tops/dresses with sleeves as the cozy feeling of wearing them in my office. Therefore, I have picked the  Simplicity  6245 pattern which pretty much ticks all the boxes. It is pretty easy to sew garment as I omitted all the cuffs, my laziness !!!. I used about 1.1 meter of the liberty tana lawn fabrics from The Fabrics Store with 1.5 width. The material is  silky with tiny purple and golden daises in its creamy background. It is light weight but not very translucent. However, I should line the front bodice next time if I sew this kind of fabric again. The only thing that I should have changed to make it better is the boat neck. I feel it too narrow if following the pattern exactly. By the way, I do love that whole garment. It is absolutely perfect for summer work outfit. And it also goes well with a high waist flare jeans on casual days.

A Japanese style Cross Back apron for L.                                              This is me borrowing her apron for photo :) I always hesitate when doing sewing for someone else that is not ME as I don’t really know what the person’s favourite styles/size and importantly does he/she need the item? Therefore, the best thing that I could think of is making an apron for my special L. so she can wear it around the kitchen. Pattern: I downloaded the free PDF pattern from Porcupine Patterns  https://porcupinepatterns.com/ a/downloads/-/ fe86cf7ec9ee05a2/ 616eba5ddb0c2370 . Everything was pretty smooth apart from the step that I accidentally cut the front trap pieces separately, which were supposed to connect with the front part of the apron in one piece. It was not a big deal as I then stitched the trap pieces together on every side in the apron’s front. I inserted bias tapes pretty much around all areas of the

The post about Livadia which I decided is the last post of my Greece travel series. Now it is time for me to go back on documenting my daily life and of course it is in English. Today we got a social function at work called Halloween Bake-Off.  I have noticed that for a couple recent year, the Australian have started celebrating Halloween, which used to be only an American thing. Anyway, some of my colleagues did made a great effort to decorate their workstation and brought their fresh baked cakes to the today event. The following are candidates for the Halloween “beauty contest”  J : From out of the cakes, I especially like the two cakes, which is the Red Velvet sponge cake from C and the beautifully cheesecake from M. I am always in favour of something not very sweet and yes the Red Velvet absolutely win my heart for it. It is also very light, which will melt into your tongue when you have it. For the cheesecake, I know my friend M -  my team m
